Admelog SoloStar

What is Admelog SoloStar?

Admelog (insulin lispro) is a short-acting human insulin analog used in the management of diabetes mellitus type 1 and type 2. It helps lower blood glucose levels by facilitating the uptake of glucose into cells through insulin action. Admelog SoloStar, specifically, is an ultrafine particle formulation that delivers insulin lispro via injection.

What is Admelog SoloStar used for?

Admelog SoloStar is a pre-filled syringe solution containing 100 units/mL of insulin lispro, which is a rapid-acting form of human insulin. It is used to control blood sugar levels in individuals with diabetes mellitus.

Insulin Lispro is a recombinant DNA-engineered version of the naturally occurring protein, human insulin. Admelog SoloStar contains this insulin as a soluble powder that is dissolved in aqueous solution containing glycine and phenol as excipients. The product is formulated to have a rapid onset of action, reaching its maximum effect within 15 minutes after subcutaneous injection. It remains active for approximately one to two hours. This makes it particularly useful in the management of post-meal blood sugar spikes in diabetic patients.

Indications and Administration Admelog SoloStar is indicated as a supplement or replacement to short-acting insulin in adult diabetes patients. The recommended dose and regimen are similar to those used with regular human insulin. Patients should consult their physician for personalized treatment guidance.
