It has a broad spectrum of activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, making it effective against a wide range of pathogens, including strains resistant to other antibiotics. The drug is administered via intravenous infusion and its peak plasma concentration is typically achieved within 2 hours after administration.
